I had to laugh when I read what Mer said because I know exactly what she is talking about. I have been subjecting myself to the same thing (read: torture) every morning for a few weeks now. Milan even did the workout with me last week and willingly admits that level 1 was difficult for him.
(I wish I had an electronic copy of that picture where Marliese and the boys are working out to a Kathy Smith video!)
I do have to agree with Mirien--it is an intense workout, but it only lasts for about 25 minutes and you really feel like you've accomplished something by the time you've finished. (I am so glad to know that you two are fellow shredders!)
Before I move to level 2, I need to master the pushups in level 1. I recently came across this website and have been trying to convince Milan that we should both try it. I think I can do it...
Everyone is welcome to try doing the pushups... and its 100% free! Or if you want to try the 30 Day Shred, I have the DVD and would be willing to share the joy of Jillian Michaels :D

i am also glad to know i have some fellow shredding buddies, even if we can't all do it together. now, each time i do it, i'm going to think of you and mirien and pretend you're doing it right along with me.
i had heard of this 100 pushup challenge a long time ago and said i was going to do it and then never started. maybe now's the time!
Rachael, way to motivate us all! One hundred? Seriously? Hmmm. I'm thinking about it. We'll have a contest next month in Oregon. :) And who wants to bring the DVD so we can all work out together?
I think you can, too. I mean, we know your arm wrestling skills! Watch out! I checked out the website and did the initial push-up test, and I'm in the level 3 range. The regimen looks pretty demanding, but I'm gonna do it! Thanks for the motivation!
Wow, ladies, the only thing I'm shredding lately are carrots for the springrolls Mer taught me how to make. But I did push a double stroll for 4 miles yesterday, while chasing my scootering big kids up the sidewalk...that should count for something.
I want that JM DVD, though. I think Des Moines will be a perfect place to start my shredding career. Thanks for the tip.
And Rachael, that old picture is a gem. I'll have to scan a copy of it for you sometime.
Wow, my sisters-in-law are all so hardcore! Whether doing a workout dvd, pushing chiants all over new york, or taking the pushup challenge, you ladies are awesome!
Just an update--I did the initial pushup test and I also fall into the level 3 range... This is gonna be so tough!
Evan and I are doing the challenge--he fell into level 3 and I'm in level 2--I'm a wimp compared to the rest of you. We're starting week 2 tomorrow!
looks like i'm going to be way behind you guys in the push-up challenge. i haven't been able to work out for the last week and a half and not sure when i can again cuz i still get out of breath easily. i haven't even tried the initial test yet and with how i'm feeling, i'd probably be in level ONE!
K that push-up thing is kinda cool...I was a little intimidated to see which catagorie I'd be in since you all seemed to do way better than I thought I could, but luckily, I made it to the 3rd also! Yea!...I'm now on day 9 of the JM vol 1 and I had just told Hilly that I wouldn't be able to do vol 2 till I could do real push-ups...maybe this will help :) and I totally agree with you on what an awesome workout it is...it's perfect if you have kids too cause it doesn't take too much time. You're gonna have to have a talk with your brother though...he thinks the vol 1 is quote, "not even hard".
By the way...HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHIE!!!! oh and awesome tool box Milan!
